Do you want to help us protect Scotland’s lobsters?

  • Volunteer with us

We rely on our volunteers to help us run the hatchery, shop and provide educational outreach. Time is flexible and any you can give would be really appreciated!

  • Student placements

We take on student research placements from universities as well as helping young people work towards their Duke of Edinburgh and Saltire award.

  • Be a marine biologist for a day!

Would you like to get a taster for what it’s like to work in marine science? Get hands on in the hatchery and help us with daily tasks, lobster releases and rockpooling.

  • Sponsor a V-notch lobster

You can sponsor a female lobster to give her v-notch protection - this means we mark her tail so that legally, she cannot be caught once we release her.

  • University visits

If you have a university/college class or marine society, get in touch for group visits to come and learn about the work we do and help us release some lobsters!

  • Restaurant donation scheme

Seafood restaurants can become part of our donation scheme by encouraging patrons to donate an additional Β£1 when they order lobster to go to our important conservation work.

  • Workshops

We run workshops for schools and community groups - get in touch to find out what we can offer and to book in with us.

  • Group visits and tours

Book a tour and go behind the scenes at the hatchery to find out how we do what we do, and release some lobsters with us!

  • Donate!

Any donation you can give makes a big difference to our little lobsters! We rely on donations from the public to keep the hatchery running each year.
